The Packers

Somehow my son has become a Packers fan.  He was devastated  when they lost their playoff game.  He was in tears and said, “It was their chance mom!”  He could not believe their season was over.

Josh came down the stairs to see Jake in tears.  Jake said, “They lost.”

Josh said, “I know!” ( This was not a terrible response but it was not the best one either.)

His words did not help Jake but just hurt, as he realized again that his team had lost.

Josh came to me and told me that he had not used the right word.  Wow, I was really encouraged that he noticed his mistake.

We talked about the words he could have used;  Jake I am so sorry, I know you wanted them to get to the Super Bowl.

Words are healing, they bring life.
