Ok, so you know how we say food brings us together, it is so true! Months ago we decided to have our own version of cupcake wars. Talk about a blast, we laughed so much during the war!!! We really got creative because we were really trying to out cook each other. It was Jeremy, Lauren and Josh against Katie and I. (Katie and I knew they would need an extra player because well you know what I am trying to say 🙂 Jeremy’s team made a vanilla filled cupcake with homemade frosting and a cupcake that was modeled after a smore. My team made an almond favored cupcake with homemade buttercream frosting and a fruit infused cupcake with almond flavored frosting.
We brought the cupcakes over to my parents home and they were the judges. We didn’t tell them who made what cupcake. They were so funny as they sampled each one. (this was really fun for my parents too) Katie and I won for the best decorated cupcake and Jeremy’s team won for the best flavor.
We had so fun laughing and talking while we cooked. I was once again reminded when I just take the time to plan something like this, I am always so happy I did. We made a memory that we will never forget. A memory that did not cost a fortune but was truly priceless. After all this time, they still talk about cupcake wars. In fact, I think it may be time to go to WAR again!
Yum…..3 families vs. each other sometime…..what u say? 🙂
ok we r on all the husbands cook and we the ladies and gents will be judges. I think Keith thinks he will win “you know I am the oldest and with the most experience” ‘oh wait ,I here you Warren saying “oh know I will win I have the most spices in my pantry” oh know Jeremy thinks he will win “I have the most to cook for and therefore I have more receipes stored up” tune in to see who will win the next “food war”
Happy Birthday to a wonderful Dad and friend. I love you
