Entrust Your Loved Ones to Me
Have you ever sent your child out the door crying? We watched one of our daughter leave for youth group last night a little fearful because she knew a lot of her friends would not be there. Also, her sister, for the first time was now going to be with the high school group and not with her. It was the first meeting since the school year ended and she was unsure about going. We talked about how she had to remember that it wasn’t about what friends would be there, but about what God had to show her while she was at youth group.
She made the decision to go. She climbed into my friend’s car, with red eyes and a nervous heart, trusting God. She said when she came home that she was glad she went! (Boy, was I relieved to hear her say that!)
This morning I was amazed as my husband and I read from a little book called “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young: It said,
“When you release loved ones to Me, you are free to cling to My hand. As you entrust others into My care, I am free to shower blessings on them. My Presence will go with them wherever they go, and I will give them rest. This same Presence stays with you, as you relax and place your trust in Me. Watch to see what I will do.”
The Lord always goes before us.
Exodus 33:14
“My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
This was beautiful, Jennifer. Thank you.
Thank you so much. My girls really love you!
I read that as well not long after dropping my first born off at college in Nashville! It was prefect timing as God’s timing always is. 😉
God is seldom early, but never late!
Wow, that’s a great verse for all the mom’s I see on FB who are anxious for their kids starting their first days of school this year. Great post!
You just wonder, are they ok? Are their needs being meant. A great trusting test!
