A Great Reminder
Happy New Year! I pray you had a wonderful holiday season. Our travels brought us to Little Rock, AR where we encountered a white Christmas. What a beautiful sight! I don’t think my boys have ever seen so much snow or played so hard!
We had our first day back to school on Friday and I was reminded again how important it is to repeat certain things to your children.
So one of my sons, who I will not name :0, walked right into his classroom, right past the teacher who said “Hello”, and just remained silent. I was not pleased, but embarrassed!
I was reminded that I have to tell them often to be respectful to their elders. I told my boys after school that their Dad and I expected them to always greet their teacher in the morning.
“Hello Ms. Jenkins, was a great way to start. (using their name is so important)
I went on the explain to them that their teacher deserves a lot of respect and encouragement and a way to do that is to acknowledge them by looking into their eyes, smiling and saying hello.
Sounds so simple, but so important.
Have a blessed day.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future!”
